Stuttering Therapy - Greenwood Speech Language Center

Facilities
The center has a large child treatment room designed for children 2 years to 8 years of age, an adolescent and adult treatment room, video and audio recording facilities, and a comfortable waiting room with mountain views, books and magazines, and lots of toys for siblings.

There are plenty of therapy transfer opportunities nearby in the stores, coffee shops, and restaurants along Arapahoe Road.

Parents accompanying their children to summer intensive therapy sessions will find many family lodging facilities in the area, including a Marriott Courtyard, and lots of local recreation activities and shopping opportunities.

Every fourth Monday evening of the month, the center hosts the meetings of the Denver Chapter of the National Stuttering Association, a support group for older teens and adults. These meetings are not therapy-oriented and are intended to allow people who stutter to share experiences with their peers and provide mutual support.  However, they also provide an opportunity for those in therapy or undertaking self-help activities to practice speech modification techniques.

The center is located in Building 6, Suite 400 of the Greenwood Executive Park (6436 S. Quebec Street)  and always has free parking right at the door. The I-25 corridor light rail line is within convenient (15-20 minute) walking distance.

Payment Options

Darrell M. Dodge, MA, CCC-SLP is a Colorado State Medicaid Provider.  In some cases, candidates for Medicaid coverage must obtain a referral from a physician for stuttering therapy prior to a fluency or speech-language evaluation at our clinic.

The GSLC is a member of the Anthem Blue Cross - Blue Shield network (PPO and HMO.)  Coverage of fluency disorders is more likely to be provided by insurance companies for children than for adults. Eligibility of clients for coverage may vary with individual insurance policies.

We also provide a levelized payment plan, under which clients may pay an agreed-to amount, with no interest charges or penalties as long as monthly payments are maintained.

As of March 1, 2008, all clients will be asked to sign a revised Memorandum of Understanding regarding stuttering treatment, therapy attendance, and payment of fees.
